Abstract

The transmission divides the forces on the wheels of a four wheel drive vehicle. Constant forces exerted on the satellites (11) by the thrust blocks (10) are transmitted to the crown wheel (17) and to the planets (12), causing a larger couple on the shaft (22) linked to the back axle than on the shaft linked to the front axle. This prevents significant rotation of the satellites (11) when the vehicle travels in a straight line without skidding of the wheels.
