Abstract
A composition for the determination of acid prostatic phosphatase (APP) comprises a specific anti-APP serum, a specific anti-gamma-globulin serum to the animal species used for the preparation of the anti-APP serum (these sera can be diluted in an appropriate buffer solution), an appropriate substrate, and a reagent to block the enzymic activity of APP. The preferred substrate is the sodium salt of p-nitrophenylphosphoric acid but other possible substrates are also exemplified.
