COMPRENDE DOS HOJAS (1, 2) UNIDAS ENTRE SI POR TABIQUES (3) QUE FORMAN CANALES LONGITUDINALES PARA EL AGUA A CALENTAR, Y, A AMBOS LADOS, COLECTORES CERRADOS EN SUS EXTREMOS (4, 5) Y QUE TIENEN UNA ENTRADA (6) O UNA SALIDA (7) PARA EL AGUA FRIA Y CALIENTE, RESPECTIVAMENTE. LOS MATERIALES DE QUE ESTA CONSTITUIDO EL CALENTADOR SON TALES COMO POLIETILENOS DE ALTA DENSIDAD, POLIPROPILENOS Y POLICARBONATOS, LOS CUALES SON ENNEGRECIDOS MEDIANTE REVESTIMIENTO CON NEGRO DE CARBONO. EL CALENTADOR SOLAR ESTA RODEADO, EN LA PARTE QUE SE ORIENTA HACIA EL SOL, POR UN MATERIAL AISLANTE ADECUADO TAL COMO LANA DE VIDRIO O POLIURETANO ESPUMADO.
