Abstract

The invention relates to a device making it possible temporarily to immobilise the drum of a laundry washing machine during the phases of loading and unloading the laundry, that is to say while the access door of the drum is open. In one exemplary embodiment, this device comprises a lever (10) equipped at one of its ends with a nose (14) intended for engaging into a notch (15) of a locking block (16) fastened to the inner wall of the tub (3) of the washing machine, and a lever (20) bearing on a support (19) fixed to the drum (1) and on a bar (23) fixed to the lever (10). When the door (4) is closed, the free end (22) of the lever (10) engages under the handle (41) of this door (4), the nose (14) then comes out of the notch (15), allowing the free rotation of the drum (1), and the bead (5) of the door interacts with the bulge (17) of the lever (20) for the locking of the door (4). The invention is used on washing machines with a horizontal drum.
