SE PREPARA CON UN ANODO DE LITIO, UN CATODO DE DIOXIDO DE MANGANESO QUE HA SIDO CALENTADO PREVIAMENTE DE MODO INTENSO Y QUE TIENE AGUA RETENIDA Y UN ELECTROLITO, TAL COMO PERCLORATO DE LITIO, DISUELTA EN UN DISOLVENTE NO ACUOSO, TAL COMO 1,3-DIOXOLANO, EXENTO DE IMPUREZAS QUE PUEDAN REACCIONAR CON EL LITIO. EL 1,3-DIOXOLANO SE POLIMERIZA, HACIENDO PASAR A SU TRAVES UNA CORRIENTE ELECTRICA.
