Abstract

The mechanism (4) of an electric quartz clock is retained in a clock housing (1) by means of a circular bottom plate (8) which is rotatably held in the housing by detents (5) and which presses on an electrical contact plate (6). On the circumference of the rear side of the housing at least three detents (5) are arranged, said detents rotatably engaging behind a rim (11) of the bottom plate. The contact plate (6) rests on the bottom plate and is engaged by the detents to prevent rotation between the contact plate and the housing. The bottom plate is on its outer side provided with fastening means, e.g. an adhesive layer (9). The arrangement permits the plate (8) to be fastened e.g. to a car dashboard, and the housing (1) containing the other parts to be then attached thereto and rotated to bring the mechanism into a desired orientation for reading.
