SE LE AÑADE AL HIDROGEL UN AGENTE DE PRESERVACION DE POROS ELEGIDO ENTRE COMPUESTOS ORGANICOS CONTENIENDO OXIGENO, TAL COMO ALCOHOLES POLIHIDRICOS,MONO- Y DIALQUIL/ETERES DE ETILENGLICOL Y POLI(ALQUILEN)GLICOL. TRAS LA ADICION DEL AGENTE DE PRESERVACION DE POROS SE SECA Y TRAS ESTA OPERACION SE INTRODUCE UN COMPUESTO DE TITANIO DE MANERA ANHIDRA. EN UN SEGUNDO METODO SE IMPREGNA HUN HIDROGEL DE SILICE O UN XEROGEL DE SILICE CON UNA SOLUCION ACUOSA ORGANICA ACIDA DE ACETILACETONATO DE TITANIO SUSTITUIDO O NO SUSTITUIDO.
