Abstract

The battery (46) charging system is designed to provide a display of system errors and to improve the regulation of the generator. The system is based around a generator (10) that has three phase winding (12) with a coupled rectifier (13). The three phase winding is connected as a bridge rectifier. The system contains a voltage regulator (16) that is composed of a control stage (17) and a power stage (18). In comparison to prior art devices, the system incorporates two additional elements. A resistor (28) is used to improve the generator regulation and is in parallel with the charge control lamp (35). A second additional resistor (27) is connected between the positive and negative terminals (D+,D-) of the voltage regulators.
