Abstract

The cap section for the rising tube, to carry the fluid additive into the washing machine, acts together with the outer section of the part bonded to the base of the chamber holding the added fluid material. This forms the rising tube with a cross section nearly identical to that of the outlet tube carrying the water and additive away into the machine by suction. The end of the rising tube is shaped to be a lipped bell mouth, and the combined cross section of the rising tube and the outlet tube is an oval. The centre points of the semicircles of the oval are sepd. by an amt. equal to the dia. of the semicircle. The cap for the rising tube section is held to the outlet tube by a click fit bead and groove structure. The design allows the unit to be mfd. by injection moulding, and has a structure which ensures that a min. of the additive is left behind in the holding chamber.
