Abstract

It has been a problem to provide a machinable wearing component which can be fitted securely, by machining the required keying portions, to the backing surface of a crusher, yet which presents a strongly wear-resistant face. The solution to this problem provided by the invention resides in a composite component having a fitting surface of soft steel and a wearing surface of martensitic white cast-iron, made by composite casting elements of these materials together.
