Abstract
A hardenable polyolefin compsn. having improved and more durable heat ageing stability comprises pref. polyethylene, its copolymer of polyethylene mixed with other polymers, and a synergistic combination of a sterically hindered di-tent-butyl phenol (I) and >=1 Zn 2-mercapto imidazole salt (II) from Zn 2-mercapto benzimidazole and Zn 2-mercapto tolylimidazole. The compsn. pref. also contains a combination of a halogenated organic cpd. and Sb2O3 as flame retardant, Zn stearate and, as crosslinking agent, an organic peroxide. The compsn. is specifically claimed for insulating electrical conductors.
