Abstract

A system for spinning thread from non-continuous fibres 1 comprising imparting a first twist stage to the thread by means of an open- end spinning head 2 and then imparting a second stage twist to the thread by means of a device 6, 7, 8 similar to that used in a ring spinning process. The resulting thread has the regularity and uniformity of open-end spun thread and high breaking strength of ring spun thread.
