Abstract
New herbicidal agents are in finely divided form and consist of or contain an intimate mixture of (A) a dinitroaniline cpd. of formula (I) (where R1 is 2-3C alkyl and R2 is 3-4C alkyl or 4-C alkenyl) (B) a urea cpd. of formula (II)(where R3 and R4 are H, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy or halogen and R5 and R6 are 1-4C alkyl or 1-4C alkoxy provided that R3 and R4 are not both H) and (C) fumed silica or precipitated silica (silicic acid). The agents have good herbicidal activity against a wide range of weeds, and are effective at concns. at which the known phytoxicity of (II) against crop plant is not evident. The compsn. is non-caking, and is readily dispersible in water to give a sprayable formulation.
