Abstract

A high-pressure pump comprises a cam ring 7, a rotary piston 6 with radial sliding-vanes 8, and a movable cheek plate 10, and preferably also a cheek plate 4 integral with the housing 1, which plates are made of a silicon- rich alloy and manufactured by vacuum die-casting. This alloy is said to have a satisfactory structure, wear-resistance and strength. Preferably, the movable cheek plate has an axial seal 21 on the outer side thereof to define an area that is subject to the pressure of working fluid in an outlet chamber 20.
