Abstract

An explosion-proof housing for electrical switchgear consists of a pressure-tight chamber which contains the switching equipment and the drive. The connecting cables are fed to the switching chamber via sealed entry glands. The housing can accommodate several switches. The housing has a rectangular cross-section with external manual controls. It is divided into separate chambers separated by vertical partitions. Each partition has link holes with internal threads joining the sections. The sealing elements are screwed into the link holes. There are also horizontal partitions with corresponding holes acting as entries for the inter-connecting cables.
