Abstract
Procedimiento para la fabricación de material refractario del tipo que comprende una masa pre-comprimida de fibras refractarias resilientes mantenidas en compresión por un material aglutinate que, durante el calentamiento a una temperatura de degradación del aglutinante, libera las fibras de forma que la masa se expanda, que comprende el empleo de una preparación acuosa de un aglutinante polímero que se hace depositar sobre las fibras, caracterizado porque comprende las siguiente etapas en combinación: a) Mezclar las fibras en agua para formar una suspensión acuosa altamente dispersada de las fibras, b) Agregar a la suspensión acuosa una preparación acuosa de un aglutinante polímero que es una cantidad de 2 a 10 % en peso del contenido sólido de aglutinante al contenido de fibra de la suspensión. c) Agregar a la suspensión un coagulante para provocar la floculación del polímero sobre las fibras, d) Extraer agua de la suspensión acuosa a través de un filtro de forma que quede sobre el filtroun cuerpo de fieltro de fibra comprimido aglutinado con agua, y e) Secar el cuerpo de fieltro manteniendo su estado de compresión.
