Abstract

The invention relates to wiper blades which comprise a harness supporting a wiper strip, the harness being constituted by a primary yoke and at least one auxiliary yoke connected at a point intermediate its length to an end of the primary yoke, a plastics spacer being interposed between the two yokes to prevent contact between the yokes while allowing limited relative pivotal motion. The plastics spacer has a cross-section similar to those of the yokes, including a web and a pair of parallel cheeks extending therefrom, the spacer having a pair of lugs moulded in alignment with each other and extending internally of the spacer from the cheeks. The invention resides in a method of moulding a plastics spacer of this kind, using a pair of complementary mould parts moving relatively to each other parallel to the cheeks of the spacer and working in opposition to each other to form the lugs between such mould parts and to form one or two openings in the web to enable one such mould part to withdraw relatively from the lugs and from the spacer through the opening or openings.
