Abstract

Disclosed are aminophenyl ether compounds having the formula < IMAGE > wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group R2 represents a cyclohexyl group which may be substituted by lower alkyl group(s), an alkyl group containing from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, a phenyl group or a benzyl group R3 represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, or a cyclohexyl group which may be substituted by lower alkyl group(s) R4 represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group or a lower alkoxycarbonyl group and R5 represents hydrogen atom, an aryl group or the group -COR6 or-CH2R6 (wherein R6 represents a hydrogen atom, an amino group, an alkyl group containing from 1 to 19 carbon atoms, a cyclohexyl group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group, an aralkenyl group, an amino group substituted by lower alkyl group(s) a heterocyclic group which may be substituted by lower alkyl group(s), or a bridged hydrocarbon group) and R2 and R3 may instead form together with the adjacent carbon atom a cyclohexane ring which may be substituted by lower alkyl group(s) and R4 and R5 may instead form together with the adjacent nitrogen atom a pyrrolidine ring or a piperidine ring and pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof. The above compounds have hypolipemic activity, a cholesterol- and triglyceride-reducing effect on blood and the effect of increasing the high density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol level in blood.
