Abstract
Un reactor nuclear perfeccionado que tiene un gran coeficiente de reactividad instantáneo negativo de temperatura, reactor que comprende: un depósito del reactor, una cantidad de agua en el depósito que sirve tanto de refrigerante como de moderador, un conjunto de núcleo del reactor en el agua del depósito que sirve tanto de refrigerante como de moderador, un conjunto de núcleo del reactor en el agua del depósito que incluye una pluralidad de elementos combustibles herméticos a los fluidos que están separados dentro del depósito para dar pasajes de circulación de líquido que rodean a cada uno de los elementos combustibles, medios para permitir que el agua fluya a través de los pasajes en relación de cambio de calor con las superficies de los elementos combustibles, conteniendo cada uno de los elementos combustibles una mezcla sólida homogénea de hidruro de zirconio, uranio y erbio, caracterizado porque el uranio constituye entre 20 y 50 por ciento del peso de la mezcla, el hidruro de zirconio constituye entre 79 y 50 por ciento del peso de la mezcla y el erbio constituye entre 0,5 y 1,5 por ciento del peso de la mezcla, siendo el uranio en la mezcla no más de 20 por ciento de U-235 y el resto sustancialmente U-238, siendo la proporción de átomos de hidrógeno a átomos de zirconio de entre 1,5:1 y 1,7:1, y estando el erbio distribuido uniformemente en toda la mezcla de uranio-hidruro de zirconio.
