Abstract

Armoured vehicle with wheels or tracks comprises an armoured turret able to rotate about its vertical axis. At least one automatic gun, in particular machine gun is mounted in the latter, whose breech-block mechanism is supplied by means of a supply device with belted cartridges stored in a magazine in layers moving to and fro. A substantially rotationally symmetrical box magazine 1 is constructed to rotate concentrically about a vertical axis 7 of the turret by means of a drive 5. The magazine is located selectively on or below the turret platform. The cartridges 2 of the belt inserted in the manner of a spiral are supplied continuously to the breech mechanism of the gun from the magazine, owing to its ability to rotate relative to the vehicle. The invention also extends to a gun mounting including such a magazine.
