Abstract
Un procedimiento de preparación de nitro-2-metil-2-propanol-1 por formilación, caracterizado porque el nitro-2-propano y formaldehido se hacen reaccionar en una proporción molar comprendida entre 0,9:1 y 1,1:1, en medio concentrado, introduciéndose el formaldehido en su mayor parte en forma de polioximetileno, y en presencia de 1 a 10 miliequivalentes, por mol de nitro-2-propano, de un catalizador básico mineral, con agitación durante un tiempo de 1 a 48 horas, a temperatura comprendida entre 40 y 58ºC, estando comprendido el pH del medio de reacción entre 7 y 11, y porque el nitro-2-propano, el formaldehido y el catalizador básico se ponen en reacción respectivamente por ese orden en presencia de una cantidad de agua que representa del 1,5 al 10% del peso de la totalidad de la masa de reacción.
