Abstract
Un método de producción de una batería de plomo-ácido capaz de ser activada por la adición de electrólito a la misma, comprendiendo al método los pasos consistentes en: (a) partir de un recipiente de batería que contiene al menos un paquete de rejillas para placas de baterías con interposición de separadores aislantes entre rejillas adyacentes, llevando un juego de rejillas del paquete la pasta para baterías de plomo-ácido necesaria para producir el material activo para placas negativas y llevando las rejillas restantes la pasta necesaria para producir el material activo para placas positivas, (b) sumergir las rejillas en la caja en ácido sulfúrico que tenga una gravedad específica comprendida ente 1, 16 y 1,30 y pasar una corriente eléctrica entre las rejillas para efectuar una operación de formación sobre las rejillas y convertir de este modo la pasta de las rejillas en el material ativo de las placas, elevándose la gravedad específica de dicho ácido durante el paso de dicha corriente a un valor comprendido entre 1,25 y 1,35 al final de la etapa de formación, © cuando se ha completado la formación, escurrir suficiente cantidad de dicho ácido de formación de la caja para impedir que el ácido de formación retenido conecte eléctricamente las placas formadas durante el almacenamiento, y (d) sellar el recipiente con medios que impidan la entrada de aire dentro del recipiente pero que permitan el escape de los gases generados en el recipiente.
