Abstract

Un método para mejorar el índice de viscosidad de un aceite lubricante, caracterizado por mezclar dicho aceite con un aditivo que comprende el producto de la reacción catalizada por radicales libres de (i) un substrato de polímero hidrocarbonado que es un copolímero de estireno hidrogenado-dieno conjugado, un copolímero de etileno- propileno, un terpolímero de etileno-propileno dieno o una mezcla de los mismos, donde el terpolímero tiene un índice de yodo de 1 a 30 aproximadamente y el contenido en propileno del copolímero de etileno-propileno y del terpolímero está comprendido entre 20 y 76,4% en peso y (ii) de 1 a 40 moles por cada 100.000 gramos de polímero hidrocarbonado de un compuesto olefínico polar con una función amina básica, primaria, secundaria o terciaria y una porción insaturada capaz de reaccionar con el polímero hidrocarbonado, cuando se cataliza con un iniciador de radicales libres.
