Abstract
The floating hull such as a barge for an industrial plant is positioned on the sea in the required position and supported subsequently on the bottom. The floating hull is made from a readily corroding material such as a metal. The reinforced concrete within the hull will subsequently act as load bearing material. The hull is lined internally by a self supporting secondary hull made of stable corrosion insensitive material, pref. a thick layer of reinforced concrete. This concrete inner wall is placed after the hull has been brought to rest on ground or on a sand bank. This concrete acts also as ballast and holds the hull in position. The concrete is pref. pre-compacted.
