Abstract

Un procedimiento para producir vidrio fundido, que comprende: hacer entrar materiales constitutivos del vidrio por un extremo de admisión de un tanque de fusión de vidrio; fundir el material en una zona de fusión del tanque adyacente al extremo de admisión del mismo; refinar el material fundido en una posición situada más allá -en el sentido de la corriente-, de la zona de fusión; y acondicionar el vidrio fundido junto a un extremo de salida del tanque, de modo que quede dispuesto el vidrio fundido para su utilización en un proceso de formación, comprendiendo además el citado procedimiento: aplicar calor al contenido del tanque, de modo que se causen corrientes avanzantes y de retroceso del vidrio fundido; agitar el vidrio fundido que fluye en dirección prácticamente espaciados lateralmente entre sí, a través del tanque, y extraer calor del vidrio que fluye hacia delante, a través de los citados agitadores; caracterizado el citado procedimiento porque se regula la cantidad de calor extraídapor los agitadores de modo que se logra una extracción diferencial de calor entre el vidrio que fluye a lo largo de un recorrido de retorno hacia el extremo de admisión después de la agitación, y el vidrio que continúa avanzando en un recorrido hacia delante, hasta el extremo de salida del tanque.
