Un cable de fibras ópticas mejorado para uso con grandes presiones exteriores el cual comprende un miembro central resistente formado helicoidalmente con un número de ranuras y habiendo un número de fibras ópticas cada una de las cuales está en el interior de un material eléctricamente aislante, en el que cada una de las fibras ópticas está introducida en una de dichas ranuras y en el que el miembro central resistente y las fibras ópticas introducidas en las ranuras están en el interior de una funda.
