Abstract

Method of preparing microcapsules containing oil, comprising the steps of (1) preparing an aqueous system comprising an aqueous solution of at least two types of hydrophilic colloid materials with opposite electrical charges and oil droplets dispersed in said solution, (2) ) causing coacervation in said aqueous system at a temperature higher than the gelling points of said colloidhydrophilic materials to form a coacervate suspension in which each of said oil droplets is surrounded by a coacervate and (3) cooling said coacervate suspension. At a temperature below the gel points of said hydrophilic colloid materials to form multi-core capsules, characterized in that the aggregation of particles of oil droplets each having a coacervate around it is controlled during the cooling step of said suspension. Coacervate, by means of a stirring circulation so that the formation of multi-core microcapsules having a mean diameter within the range of 3 to 20 microns is allowed.
