Abstract

Detector de neutrones que incluye: una cámara herméticamente cerrada que tiene dos electrodos separados situados en ella; un gas ionizable situado en el interior del espacio formado entre dichos electrodos; estando una parte de dicho detector constituida por una mezcla de un material activo y de un material de reproducción; y estando una parte de dicho detector formada por un material de apantallamiento situado para reducir el flujo de neutrones al cual están sometidos el material activo y el material de reproducción, teniendo dichos materiales de reproducción y de apantallamiento unas curvas de sección transversal de captura de neutrones sustancialmente adaptadas, con lo cual se refuerzan mutuamente sus efectos individuales sobre la vida del detector.
