Abstract
Procedimiento de modificación química de una poliacrilamida para dotarla de naturaleza cationica, caracterizado porque comprende las etapas de: (a) hacer reaccionar una poliacrilamida que contiene de 100 a 1.600 unidades recurrente de acrilamida aproximadamente, con formaldehído y dimetilamina, de manera que al menos reaccione 50 moles % de los grupos amida de dicha poliacrilamida a una temperatura de 40ºC aproximadamente, para formar la base de Mannich correspondiente; y (b) alquiler la base de Mannich a un pH de 4-7, con sulfato de dimetilo o cloruro de metilo.
