Abstract

Esta invención se refiere a compuestos químicos, especialmente a ácidos ureido (sustituídos) acetohidroxámicos de fórmula: **(Fórmula)** donde R es isobulito, hidrógeno, metilo, bencilo, 4-amino- butilo o hexilo y R1 es hidrógeno o bencilo. Los miembros de esta serie son potentes inhibidores de la enzima responsable de la conversión de la angiotensina I en el potente agente tensor angiotensina II asociado a la hipertensión. Por lo tanto, son capaces de interrumpir la ruta biológica que conduce a la formación de esa activa sustancia tensora. Por ejemplo, inhiben a la enzima conversora pura aislada del tejido de pulmón de conejo a niveles de 0,4 a 3,2 x 10-5 moles por litro.
