Abstract

A process for preparing alkaline cellulose starting from a cellulose-containing raw material by reaction of the raw material with an alkaline impregnation liquor, characterized in that the raw material used is cellulose pulp manufactured by alkali cooking without prior hydrolysis, and/or by cooking with acid without extraction with alkali, when at the cellulose pulp, the alkaline impregnation liquor and/or the alkaline cellulose is added at least one organic compound which is an alcohol, an ester, an ether, a ketone, a amine, an acid or the salt of one such acid, an amine or an aliphatic hydrocarbon having at least four carbon atoms.
