Abstract

Tetrahydroequinocandin-B derivs. of formula (I) and their salts with organic or mineral acids are new: R3CH2CH2(CH2)mNR gamma R2 (I). (R3 is the residue R5=(CH2)16CH3, m=0-4, R1=H, 1-12C alkyl, 3-7C cycloalkyl, 3-7C cycloalkyl -(1 -3C)alkyl, hydroxyethyl, 3-6C alkoxyethyl, furylmethyl, tetrahydrofurylmethyl, or phenyl or 7-10C phenalkyl in which the rings are opt. substd. by one or two F, Cl, Br, OH or 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy. R2=H or 1-4C alkyl, or R1 and R2 together are -(CH2)2.A.(CH2)2-. A=bond, CH2, O or NR4, R4=H or 1-4C alkyl). They are prepd. e.g. by reacting R3H with HO.CH2.CH2(CH2)m.NR1R2. (I) are antimycotics esp. active against Candida species pathogenic to humans, with little or no effect on bacteria. They are administered in usual oral, rectal, parental or topic formulations at daily doses of 10-500 mg. Specifically claimed is the 2-aminoethyl ether of tetrahydroequinocandin-B.
