Abstract

Aparato para inspeccionar y clasificar automáticamente pastillas de combustible nuclear, constituido por una base que soporta una cubeta de alimentación utilizada para transferir las pastillas desde una fuente de pastillas hasta un mecanismo de inspección de pastillas que las examina para determinar si presentan defectos en su superficie externa, incluyendo dicho mecanismo un aparto que recibe pastillas e incluye unos medios para desplazar cada pastilla linealmente a través de el, una sonda óptica que incluye una fuente de luz asociada con ella y montada en dicha base en una posición tal que dirija un haz luminoso hacia la superficie de cada pastilla mientras ésta se desplaza a través de dicho mecanismo un dispositivo de recepción de luz reflejada situado en dicha sonda óptica para recibir la luz procedente de dicha pastilla, un dispositivo de conversión conectado con dicha sonda para transformar la luz reflejada en una señal eléctrica, un dispositivo de circuito eléctrico conectado con dicho dispositivo de conversión para determinar si las señales de luz reflejada representativas de defectos en la superficie de una pastilla rebasan una tensión de referencia standar predeterminada que representa una pastilla aceptable.
