Abstract
Refinements introduced into a biaxially oriented nonwoven fabric composed of long fibers having a length of approximately thirteen millimeters or more and short fibers having a length of less than approximately thirteen millimeters and comprising areas with low fiber density having a configuration of finger mode and high fiber density areas, in that most of the fibers in the low fiber density areas are long fibers that are oriented in a direction substantially perpendicular to the fingers, most of the fibers in the portions of the high fiber density areas that are directly adjacent to the low fiber density areas are oriented in a direction substantially parallel to the fingers and most of the short fibers are arranged within the high fiber density areas.
