Abstract

New nitrocoumarins are of formula (I) (where R1 and R2 are each H, lower alkoxy, alk(en)yl or alkynyl, or together form 3-5C alkylene or -CH=CH-CH=CH- A is of formula (II) in 6- or 7- posn. of the nitrocoumarin ring X is O or CH2 Q is 1-8C linear alkylene opt. OH substd. other than on a CH2 gp. bonded to the ether O R3 5 are each H, halogen, NO2, OH, CN, carboxyl, amino, lower alk(en)yl, alkynl, alkoxy(carbonyl) or acyl(oxy), mono- or di-lower alkyl amino, mono-or di-lower acylamino, pheyl, lower alkylphenyl, phenoxycarbonyl, benzyloxycarbonyl, or 2 of R3 5 together form 3-5C alkylene or -CH=CH-CH=CH-). (I) are useful in the prophylaxis and treatment of e.g. bronchial asthma, rhinitis, hay fever, allergi c eczema, etc.
