Abstract
Un método de separar los isótopos de un elemento, aplicándose dicho método a un compuesto gaseoso de dicho elemento, y comprendiendo dicho método el someter a las moléculas de dicho compuesto, simultáneamente, a dos radiaciones infrarrojas de dos longitudes de onda diferentes, durante un tiempo menor de 10-5 segundos, teniendo la primera radiación una longitud de onda que corresponde a una banda de absorción de dicho compuesto, la cual, a su vez, corresponde a un modo de movimiento molecular en el cual existe una participación de los átomos de dicho elemento, y teniendo la segunda radiación una densidad de potencia mayor de 10-6 watios por cm2, con lo que dicho compuesto se excita y convierte de una manera isotópicamente selectiva, siendo dicha conversión bien sea una descomposición o una reacción con un segundo gas, después de lo cual las moléculas convertidas se separan y recuperan de las moléculas no convertidas, por medios conocidos en al técnica.
