Abstract

Some improvements in apparatus for the mineral flotation process, of the type comprising, (1) a rotary shaft provided with an impeller located at or near its lower end, the impeller comprising a substantially horizontal base plate and (2) a stationary cover plate with a diameter greater than said impeller, being arranged directly above it, characterized in that a series of radial fins are attached to the upper and lower surfaces of said base plate, of which at least some extend to a point located on or near the circumference of the base plate and so that the stationary cover plate is separated from the impeller blades by a small clearance and has a central opening through which the shaft passes rotary, and also due to the fact that the annular zone of said central plate that extends radially beyond the circumference of the impulse r, is provided with downwardly directed fins which are spaced relative to the radial direction relative to the impeller direction of rotation.
