Abstract
Crude copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) is formulated by kneading 1 part by weight of CuPc crude material without prior extraction with 0.1 - 20 parts by weight of an inorganic or organic salt which is water-soluble or soluble in aqueous acids or bases and 0.3 - 5 parts by weight of an organic or inorganic solvent or solvent mixture. The solvent or the solvent mixture essentially initially dissolves neither the pigment nor the salt. The synthesis by-products, the salt and the solvent are then removed by extraction. The formulated CuPc can be used as a pigment.
