Abstract

Cell for a laser device that uses a liquid laser material that flows in a direction transverse to and through an optical axis, including: an input chamber to receive said liquid laser material; an outlet chamber for the discharge of said liquid laser material; a pair of opposingly arranged wall elements to define a passageway for said liquid laser material between said input and output chambers; an active region for generating laser radiation within said passageway, said active region being defined between portions of said pair of wall elements arranged in opposition; said wall elements extending in a position substantially parallel to said optical axis and converging with each other in a direction oriented from said input chamber towards said active region; and a device located in said passageway, generally oriented towards said outlet chamber from said active region, to substantially prevent the increase in pressure in said liquid laser material while flowing out of said active region towards said outlet chamber.
