Abstract
Improvements introduced in the object of the main patent No. 423,041 applied for on February 8, 1974 for: "A method for the recovery and stabilization of fat, fatty substances, proteins, protein substances and products of deterioration of said substances" according to which to dehydrate a stabilized fatty suspension obtained by adding a metallic acid hydrolyzing salt to an aqueous effluent containing fatty substances or degradation products thereof, in sufficient quantity to complex with the fatty substances or their degradation products, adding mineral acid at the same time as or after said addition, if necessary, to reduce the pH to 5 or less, and precipitating the resulting complex as a stabilized fat suspension, by raising the pH to 6 or more by adding a base and by addition of alkaline earth metal ions, these improvements include acidifying the stabilizing fat suspension ada separated to a pH preferably less than 2, so that the acidified suspension is separated into an upper phase of concentrated fat suspension and a lower aqueous phase.
