Abstract

The method is applicable to large cylinders such as cylindrical wash drums, mills, furnaces etc. The cylinder (1) is supported on rollers (2) and (3) which are arranged in pairs along the length of the cylinder and provided with pneumatic tyres. The rollers (3) are mounted on the shafts (5) which are free to rotate in the bearings (5) mounted on the support (7) welded to the base (8). The rollers (2) are mounted on shafts (4) which are driven through couplings and gears by the hydraulic motor (11). The hydraulic motor is supplied with high pressure fluid from a reservoir fed by a pump driven by an electric motor.
