Abstract
A procedure for the regeneration of useful quinone compounds in a working solution degraded by use in a cyclical process for the production of hydrogen peroxide, the procedure of which is to treat the working solution degraded by contacting it with a regeneration agent, characterized by using a combination of at least two different regeneration treatments, in which one of the combination treatments consists of bringing the oxidized working solution into contact with the regeneration agent and the other treatment of the combination consists of contacting the reduced working solution with a regeneration agent; or a treatment in the combination comprises contacting the working solution in a treatment with a solid alkaline regeneration agent selected from the group consisting of aluminum alkali metal silicates, alkaline activated alumina, alkaline earth metal oxides and hydroxides and resins basic ion exchangers, or an aqueous metal-alkali hydroxide and in another treatment contact the working solution with a solid non-alkaline alumina.
