Abstract

A receiver in a facsimile system that receives successive binary code signals representing respectively the stroke lengths of at least one mark signal and at least one alternately appearing gap signal and a vertical sync pulse signal, which is characterized by: - a decoder to decode said binary code signals into said mark and space signals; - a stroke length memory for cumulatively memorizing the stroke length of said mark and space signals, said stroke length memory producing an overflow signal when it memorizes stroke lengths equal to the total stroke length of a signal of 1-H facsimile; and - a control device for causing said decoder to produce a mark or space signal having a stroke length equal to the time interval that elapses from the moment when a pulse of said vertical synchronization pulse signal appears to another moment at which said decoder produces said overflow signal.
