Abstract

1467237 Signal transmission; keyboards with coded outputs POST OFFICE 12 March 1974 [16 March 1973] 12778/73 Heading G4H A digital signalling system comprises a coding means connected to a decoding means by a transmission channel such that digital data input to the coding means is transmitted therefrom in the form of sequential pulse and space elements representing the binary digit values 1 and 0 which occupy equal time intervals, the duty ratio for one of the digit values being 1 : 1 and for the other 1 : 3 and 3 : 1 alternately. The digital data may be obtained from the keyboard of fig. 2 which is connected to suitable circuitry (not shown) for producing the sequential signals.
