Abstract
Procedure for the removal of organic and inorganic combined nitrogen from domestic and industrial wastewater, in a biological treatment plant for wastewater with two successive stages, each of which includes separate aeration tanks and separate sedimentation vessels arranged after said aeration tanks, said waste waters being aerated in the first stage, then led to the sedimentation vessel for settling, from which they are extracted free of oxygen, and being then led to the second stage in which they are aerated again and then led to the sedimentation container of said second stage, characterized in that the waste water, free of oxygen and containing ammonia, which is extracted from the sedimentation container of the first stage, is aerated in the aeration tank of the second stage under the creation of optimal conditions for maximum nitrification of ammonia, and because a part of the waste water nitrified in this way is continuously recycled from the sedimentation container from the second stage to the first stage and is denitrified in the sedimentation container of the first stage, after previous creation in it of optimal conditions for the ammonification of the organically combined nitrogen and for the denitrification of the nitrate contained in the wastewater and recycled with the clarified wastewater.
