Abstract
Método de fabricación de vidrio por flotación en forma de cinta en un baño de metal en fusión, que consite en introducir el vidrio en fusión en el baño a una velocidad que produce una capa de vidrio en fusión que se desplaza sobre el baño, y que se derrama lateralmente sobre el baño y se desplaza en forma de cinta bajo la influencia de fuerzas marginales de control de anchura y de la tracción que se aplica, enfriándose la cinta antes de salir del baño, caracterizado dicho método porque se aplican unas fuerzas dirigidas hacia el interior y hacia adelante a los márgenes de la capa de vidrio en fusión que se derrama para regular el grado de este derrame, para acelerar el vidrio, y simultáneamente para imponer una reducción controlada de anchura a la cinta de vidrio que fluye hacia adelante, que sirve para mantener el vidrio en un espesor que se reduce a continuación al espesor deseado mediante la influencia de dicha tracción aplicada.
