Abstract
Procedure for producing a solid filament of molten material normally at room temperature, having properties, in the molten state at its conventional melting temperatures, substantially similar to molten metals, characterized by comprising the steps of: (a) introducing the outer edge of a rotating disk-shaped member on the surface of a pool of molten material; (b) Controlling the contact area and the contact time of said edge in said puddle of molten material; (c) Procuring heat separation at the circumferential end of said member to cause solidification of said filament material on said member; and (d) allowing said final filamentary product to spontaneously detach from said member.
