Abstract
Improvements in exhaust mufflers and spark arrestor for an internal combustion engine, characterized in that it comprises a box that has a cylindrical circular wall with a central geometric axis, and that is provided with an opening; an inlet tube having a geometric axis and joining to said box around the margin of said opening; a first end wall perpendicular to said axis and coupled to said circular cylindrical wall, said first end wall having an axial opening of a predetermined size, a second wall perpendicular to said axis coupled to said circular cylindrical wall, said second end wall having an opening larger than the default; a tube arranged coaxially inside said box and in contact with one end with said first wall in the margin of said opening and passing its other end through said opening in said second wall separated from the margin of said opening; a spiral wall within said box centered on said geometric axis and extending practically to said first wall and said second wall, said spiral wall ending at one end in said circular cylindrical wall adjacent to the margin of said opening and ending at the other end after approximately three quarters of a turn, said spiral separating from said circular cylindrical wall; a support wall extending practically to said first wall and to said second wall and, from the other mentioned end of said spiral wall to said circular cylindrical wall; a deflector wall extending practically up to said first wall and up to said second wall, ending at one end in said circular cylindrical wall adjacent to the margin of said opening and having a flat part that leaves from said margin practically through said opening in angle to its geometric axis and that is effective to reflect the matter and the energy that penetrate into said box through said inlet tube and said opening on said spiral wall, having a curved part that extends from the end of said part practically flat by a quarter of a turn, and a deflector wall extending practically up to said first wall and up to said second wall and having a spiral part projecting from one place radially inward from the end of said spiral wall leaving a separation space between the two until the union of said flat part and said curved part.
