Abstract
Procedure to prepare benzoxazepine derivatives, of general formula: ** (See formula) ** where R is hydrogen or lower alkyl; R1n is a member selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, lower alkyl, alkenyl, hydroxy-lower alkyl, carbamyloxy-lower alkyl, carbamyloxy-substituted lower alkyl, acyl, amidino, carbamyl, mono or disubstituted carbamyl; R2 can be found in position 7 or 8 of the benzoxazepine ring and represents hydrogen, nitro, amine, acylamino and halogen; characterized in that it comprises heating an N, 0-disubstituted hydroxylamine derivative of the formula: ** (See formula) ** wherein R and R2 are defined as above and R3 is alkyl or aralkyl, in the presence of a strong base, in an organic solvent; hydrolyze the 2-carbalkoxy or carboaralkoxy-benzoxazepine derivative obtained with aqueous alkali hydroxide; and introducing a substituent R1 as previously defined.
