Abstract

Procedimiento para la producción hidrometalúrgica de cinc, en el que se separa hierro de soluciones de sulfato de cine acidificadas con ácido sulfúrico, por ejemplo, producidas disolviendo materiales que contienen ferrita de cinc (materiales de tostación, residuos de lixiviación, etc.), caracterizado porque la solución, subsiguientemente a una neutralización previa opcional a temperaturas de 60 a 100ºC, preferiblemente de hasta 85 a 95ºC, es hecha reaccionar bien continuamente o bien en porciones con un agente precipitante en forma de una suspensión o un material sólido que contiene Fe203 ó Fe(OH)3 como componente esencial, pudiendo consistir el agente precipitante, por ejemplo, en un "lodo rojo" producido como residuo o subproducto en la descomposición de bauxita, y porque mediante adiciones controladas de dicha suspensión o material sólido la concentración del ácido en la solución es ajustada a un pH de 1,0-2,5, preferiblemen te de 1,4-1,7.
